Our Practice

Our office is centrally located off Valleydale Rd. in the Providence Park Complex midway between Highway 280 and Interstate 65. Our office location allows for convenient front door parking. We strive to accommodate same-day appointments and we accept all major insurances.

We offer comprehensive care for problems affecting the ears, nose, and throat (ENT) including onsite allergy testing and immunotherapy for those patients suffering from sinus and allergy symptoms. We also perform the balloon sinuplasty on-site for the relief of your sinus pressure. Our full-time audiologist provides comprehensive hearing tests for all ages and conducts complete balance testing. We offer a full line of digital hearing aids and can assist you with any questions you may have.

J Scott Robertson, M.D, FACS

J Scott Robertson, M.D, FACS

Originally from California, Dr. Robertson has been a Birmingham resident for almost 20 years. Both he and his family have been residents in Shelby and Jefferson County. Having raised two children in the Hoover School System, he has been an active member in the community.

Dr. Robertson graduated both College and Medical School from the University of California at Irvine with honors. He then accepted an internship and residency in Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State University. Finalizing his training with a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery here in Birmingham, he has been very pleased to call Alabama home ever since.

Dr. Robertson is board certified in both Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) as well as in Facial Plastic and reconstructive Surgery. He has been a member in good standing in both organizations for over 15 years.

Ryan Marshall, M.D.

Ryan Marshall, M.D.

Dr. Ryan Marshall was born and raised in Gulfport, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Mississippi. He earned both a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences and his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. He was the recipient of many honors including his election to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. He then completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Dr. Marshall is board certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (ENT) and treats patients with the full spectrum of ear, nose, and throat conditions. He has an interest in sinus disease, voice disorders, sleep apnea, and facial plastic surgery. We are thrilled to have Ryan join our practice, as he will be able to provide a wide range of skills and services to our patients.

Dr. Marshall, his wife Sarah, and their two young children live in the Birmingham area. In his free time, he enjoys golf, exercising, cooking, and spending time with his family.

Elizabeth Milazzo, CRNP

Beth is a board-certified Family nurse practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience. She graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and received her Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She’s been a part of our team for the past 8 years and has enjoyed developing long-lasting relationships with many of her patients. Beth is committed to treating her patients and their symptoms, but it’s also important to her to explore and define the root cause of their issues. By doing this, she can consider all possible treatment options and tailor individual treatment plans.

Outside of work, Beth enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 young children, and their golden doodle, Louie.

Andie Veren, CRNP

Andie Veren, CRNP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. Originally from southern Indiana, Andie earned her Bachelor of Science in Didactic Dietetics from Purdue University. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She worked as a nurse for 3 years in Hematology-Oncology. She then completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama Birmingham. Andie joins our practice with 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Allergy and Asthma.

Andie is dedicated to providing patient-centered care and advocating for her patients’ needs. Her goal as a provider is to form meaningful relationships with her patients and to make sure they understand their diagnosis for optimal health outcomes. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband traveling, mountain biking, and exploring new restaurants in Birmingham.

Abby Ryan, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA

As a child of parents with dual sensory losses, vision and hearing loss, Abby Ryan has a lifetime of personal experience with hearing loss, hearing aids, and the hardships faced by those with multiple impairments.

Interested in what caused her mother’s sudden sensorineural hearing loss, Dr. Ryan took courses on communication disorders and audiology. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Alabama and her Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D.) from Auburn University. Dr. Ryan completed her Clinical Fellowship Year with the UAB Civitan-Sparks Clinics. These clinics are part of the Civitan International Research Center whose mission is to provide education, research, and services on developmental disabilities. During this time, she presented her research on the choice of musical instrument and its effects on auditory working memory and perception in adolescents at the Civitan International / Simpson-Ramsey Neurodevelopmental Symposium. Most recently, Dr. Ryan has presented on her experience as part of the Cochlear Provider Network (CPN) at the 2022 AuDacity conference for the Academy of Doctors of Audiology (ADA).  Dr. Ryan specializes in adult and pediatric diagnostic evaluations and has special interests in hearing aids, cochlear implants, aural rehabilitation, and vestibular testing.

A native of Birmingham, she is a regular at the Christmas Village, enjoys playing musical instruments, attending concerts and musicals, trying new restaurants, and enjoying the outdoors with her husband, two pups, and two children.

Rachel Rubolino, Practice Manager

Rachel Rubolino is an Illinois native and has recently joined our team as our Practice Manager. 

Rachel is motivated to lead and serve others. Rachel graduated from Lubbock Christian University with a MS Leadership degree in 2017 and has worked diligently over the years to grow within leadership and she is always helping to drive continual improvement. 

She has over 20 years of healthcare experience that makes her especially adept at the ever-changing healthcare industry. In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 sons.
